On Site Safety & Compliance Audits

To ensure that the product you purchased is 100% compliant with the manufacturer’s certified and approved designs, we will schedule bi-annual or annual safety audits on your equipment. Upon completion of the audit we will provide written recertification by factory safety personnel and recertification labels for audited equipment.

For reduced rates customers can join our Annual Safety Audit Program. Contact our Parts and Service Manager at (414) 988-1234 for details.

Annual Recertification

ML Explosion Proof equipment has been designed and tested in compliance with ANSI A92 standards for Aerial Work Platforms and NFPA Class I, Div 1, Group D requirements for Hazardous Duty Equipment. Compliance with Class I, Div 1, Group D requirements is governed by OSHA and Certified by OSHA Approved NRTL’s, (OSHAs Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory).

Our EX designs are proprietary and include certified and controlled parts specific to the make and model of each lift. We are audited 4 times a year by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) to ensure there are no unapproved design changes and that we have traceability for all controlled parts. This includes service parts.

Any change to the equipment including but not limited to changes or modification to the design, the use of non-OEM (Certified) parts or failure to properly service the equipment can at any time invalidate the EX compliance of the equipment.

ANSI A92 6.4 outlines the requirement for the maintenance, inspection and repair of aerial lifts in general, but does not address Class I, Div 1, Group D compliance. Ultimately the responsibility for maintaining compliance is the responsibility of the owner of the equipment, but to ensure compliance is maintained they should be inspected at a minimum of once a year by a ML technician. Only an OEM (ML) technician can ensure that there have been no modifications to the equipment; that all EX related components are still within tolerance; that only certified and traceable service parts are being used; and if specific service requirements are being meet.

The issue of Compliance is also covered in the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Directorate of Technical Support and Emergency Management, Bulletin SHIB 02-16-2010, published 2/16/2010, which specifically addresses the identification and disposition of non-conforming products.
